of my "gap" year in
an exchange program
based in USA
With a PR Perspective

During my last year of college, I started to look for new opportunities, and The Little Nell showed up as a perfect spot to start fresh.

Located in Aspen, Colorado, United States. This astonishing property introduced me to a different way of Communication, Luxury & PR.

01. First steps

Relocation and a shift in my career

After deciding to leave my home country and embark on this new experience. I had to go back to the “student” table and improve my soft skills, language skills, and industry-related topics, such as luxury brands, Customer Experience at the highest level, and hospitality communication skills.

02. Challenges

An industry full of diverse challenges

Being a part of a Relais & Châteaux property brought to my professional career a new way to face challenges and push myself forward.

From studying every week to delivering the best service possible, to receiving two promotions in the length of a year, was a path that improved my soft and hard skills on a different level.

Aspen, a city that embraces a culture of outstanding service and luxurious experiences and that takes you to a level of challenges and pressure that either you adapt and improve or you fail.

Luckily, I didn’t fail and went through tremendous demand levels that sharpened my sight for improvement opportunities and team management.

03. Lessons learned

Personal and professional growth

During the entire length of the exchange program, I received two promotions and had the opportunity to lead a diverse team from people all around the world.

Learning about different cultures and places brought me a broad point of view about work-related challenges. I had the opportunity to implement tech-related work methodologies daily with our team, which improved our communication and work environment.

By the end of the year, I surpassed two Forbes-related ratings with outstanding achievements and achieved two 5 stars and 5 diamonds results with no previous experience.
